Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of this website and any work you ask Mastercraft Fresno Concrete and Masonry to quote or do. When you browse the site, call us, send the form or sign off on an estimate, you're agreeing to them, so please read them before you book.

If a written estimate or contract for your job says something different from this page, the written agreement for your job wins, because it was made for your house and your project.

What we do

We're a masonry contractor in Fresno, CA, and we also take on concrete work. That covers brick, block, stone, pavers, walls, chimneys, fireplaces, foundations and the repair and pointing that keep them sound. You can see the full list of services on our home page and read more about who we are on our About page.

We're licensed and insured. The services, materials and cities named on this site describe what we usually do, and they don't promise we can take on every job. Some work falls outside what we do, and we'll tell you so at the estimate rather than take it on.

Estimates and pricing

Estimates are free, on site and obligation-free. We price your job from what we can see and measure at your house, so the estimate covers the scope, materials and conditions we describe in it, and nothing beyond that.

Masonry sometimes hides things until it's opened up, like soft brick behind a sound face, a cracked footing under a wall or old fill under a slab. If we find something that changes the work or the cost, we stop, show you, and agree the change with you in writing before we go on. We won't add charges you haven't approved.

Any figure on this website is general information and isn't a quote for your job. Your estimate is the only price that applies to your project, and it stays good for the period written on it.

Scheduling and cancellation

We give you a start date once you approve the estimate, and we hold to it as closely as we can. Weather can move it, because mortar and concrete need the right conditions to cure, and Fresno's summer heat and the odd rainy stretch in winter can push a pour or a wall back a day or more. Material delays and conditions found during the job can move it too.

We'll tell you as soon as we know the schedule is changing, and we ask the same of you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us as early as you can. When we've already ordered special materials or set aside crew time for your job, the deposit and cancellation terms in your written agreement decide what's owed.

Payment

Your written estimate or contract sets out what's due, when it's due and how you can pay. On larger jobs that usually means a deposit before we order materials and payments as the work reaches set stages, so neither side carries too much of the job unpaid.

Payment is due on the dates in your agreement. If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's settled, and we'll talk with you before we do. Materials we deliver stay ours until they're paid for, to the extent the law allows.

Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover

We stand behind our work, and every job comes with our satisfaction guarantee. If something we built or repaired isn't right, call us and we'll come back out to look at it and make it right. Any specific warranty for your job is the one written into your agreement, and we don't give any other warranty, spoken or implied, beyond that and what the law requires.

Brick, stone and concrete are natural materials, so some things are normal and aren't defects. That includes small color and texture differences between batches, hairline cracks in concrete, white salt deposits on new masonry as it dries, and new mortar that doesn't exactly match old mortar on a repair. Our guarantee also doesn't cover damage from soil movement or settling we didn't build on, flooding, roots, vehicles heavier than the work was built for, other people's changes or repairs, or upkeep you were told about and that wasn't done.

The information on this website is general and meant to help you understand the work. It isn't engineering advice or a judgment on your house, and only an estimate on site can tell you what your job needs.

Limits on our liability

To the extent California law allows, our responsibility for any claim tied to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We aren't responsible for indirect losses, such as lost use of your property or lost income, or for delays caused by weather, suppliers or other things outside our control.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law doesn't let a business take away, and nothing here limits our responsibility for harm caused by our own negligence where the law says it can't be limited.

Settling a disagreement

If you're unhappy with anything, call us first, because most problems get fixed fastest with a visit and a straight conversation on site. If we can't work it out between us, we'll both try mediation in good faith before either of us goes to court.

If a dispute still isn't settled, it will be heard in the courts serving Fresno County, California, unless the law gives you the right to bring it somewhere else.

Which state's law applies

These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California, because that's where we're based and where we do our work.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time, and the version posted here is the one that applies to new visits and new estimates. A change to this page won't change the terms of a job you've already signed for, since your written agreement holds for that job.
